Mr. Baazov has acted as a Director, President and Chief Executive Officer of Amaya since 2006. He began his career during the height of the dot-com era, when he pioneered a thriving business focused on the marketing and sales of consumer electronics and personal computers. Early in his career, Mr. Baazov saw tremendous potential in the gaming industry, particularly when it came to the role of technology. Since joining Amaya, Mr. Baazov has guided the evolution of the company, making it into the multi-national commercial enterprise it is today. Under Mr. Baazov's leadership, Amaya became the highest performing Tech IPO on the Toronto exchange in 2010. As a testament to Mr. Baazov's enterprising success he was awarded with the prestigious 2011 Hot 50 Award, recognizing him as one of the most inspiring leaders working in the gaming arena.
Mr. Sebag is a specialist in the areas of cost management and financial reporting systems. He has extensive academic and corporate experience in accounting and currently oversees the Company's financial reporting, treasury and compliance functions. Mr. Sebag joined Amaya in July 2007 as Chief Financial Officer. With a 10-year background as a faculty lecturer at McGill University, he led executive seminars in accounting and finance at its International Executive Institute, including the Directors Education Program and the Advanced Management Course. He has also taught advanced accounting to students in the McGill MBA and Chartered Accountancy programs. In addition, he has acted as a consultant to several multinational companies including Bombardier, Ericsson, Transat AT and Air Liquide. Mr. Sebag is the former President of Computer Enterprises DS Inc., an information technology consulting firm.
Mr. Acorn received his Honours Diploma in Internet Object Oriented Software Engineering from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. He has an extensive background in Internet and e-commerce development and design. Mr. Acorn has management experience in the information technology industry, specialising in web development, as he owned and operated his own web development company from 1995 to 1999.
One of the founders of Chartwell, Mr. Krogh joined Chartwell's Board of Directors and management team in June, 1999. His responsibilities include strategic planning, corporate finance, expanding operations, and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Krogh has experience in sales and marketing, corporate finance and business development, with a good understanding of the public capital markets, due to an extensive background in the securities industry. Mr. Krogh was a stockbroker for 18 years with several Canadian investment dealers.
Mr. Richter joined the company in January of 2007. Prior to joining the company, he was the Vice President of Finance for a private firm that developed and published games for mobile devices. Prior to this, he held several senior financial management positions in the software industry in Ottawa. Mr. Richter has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Carleton University and is a Chartered Accountant.
Mr. Begin has built a presence for himself in both the enterprise and open source communities. Having consulted as a senior developer and agile mentor for industry greats such as ThoughtWorks, Microsoft, and Stanford University, his experiences have spanned a broad range of business and technical domains. Mr. Begin has applied agile methodologies, open source software, Java, .NET, and Ruby to the development of large-scale applications. He is an experienced author and speaker, and has delivered formal presentations and training from San Francisco to New York City.
